Doncaster man jailed for child sexual offences

A 25-year-old Doncaster man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after live streaming child sexual abuse in America.

Kieron Cunliffe, who is also known as Kieron McGowan, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court today (Friday 30 April) where he was jailed for 15 years and handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Cunliffe will serve a minimum of 10 years behind bars.

Cunliffe admitted six counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of taking indecent images of a child and two counts of distributing indecent images of children at an earlier court hearing.

In October 2020, South Yorkshire Police received information from The Department of Homeland Security in the US that an individual was sharing indecent images and videos of children online, as well as concerning intelligence that suggested abuse was being live-streamed onto a chat room. The IP address was traced to a property in Doncaster, where Cunliffe was arrested by officers later that day.
