South Yorkshire's mayor says "levelling up" - creating wealth and opportunity in the area - is at risk from the political drama at Westminster.
Commenting on the prime minister's resignation announcement on Thursday, Mayor Oliver Coppard said thousands of people in places like South Yorkshire lent the Johnson administration their vote.
But he said the "chaos engulfing the government" threatens to derail multi-million pounds investments he's been negotiating.
He's welcoming the arrival of the new Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Greg Clark, to replace Michael Gove. And he's urging the government to focus on jobs, health and wealth in South Yorkshire and nationwide, rather than the power struggle at Westminster.
